Just don’t call it Mega.
Just because Samsung has outed its flagship Galaxy S4 and unveiled two monster-sized phablets that a cast of clowns would struggle to get into their pockets doesn’t mean it’s done with smartphones for the year.
Details are now emerging of Sammy’s next high-end effort, the Galaxy Note 3, and it promises to be every bit as tech-heavy as its predecessor.
Unperturbed by the fact that it’s already launched the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy Mega 6.3, this new effort will apparently pack a similar-sized 5.99-inch screen, albeit with a fancier Full HD Super AMOLED display.
As well as that vast panel for watching videos, playing games and awkward, one-handed use, the Galaxy Note 3 is said to come with the same octa-core processor as the Galaxy S4.
There’s also a 13-megapixel snapper, with plans to load it with the new version of Android, which Google will tout at I/O in a few weeks. A flexible display is also being rumoured, although Korea’s finest phone-maker is yet to decide on its inclusion.
An August or September release is planned, around the time of IFA in Berlin. Seems like Samsung might want to put the Galaxy Note 3 up against a certain new Apple product.
