HTC One gets UltraPixel camera update, One X Android Jelly Bean update incoming

TC has begun rolling out a new firmware update for its first flagship phone of 2013, bringing an array of improvements to the One’s much-lauded UltraPixel camera.
Update 1.29.401.13 is currently available for the international version of the HTC One and packs enhancements that include improved sound capture with HTC Zoe, noise reduction in slow motion video capture and superior colour reproduction and dynamic range that lowers over-exposure in non-HDR snaps.

It also fixes an issue that caused the ISO to be displayed incorrectly in the EXIF data when the user manually changes the ISO settings. Elsewhere, it boosts the One’s overall system performance and stability.
The update is separate from Android, so you’ll still be on Jelly Bean 4.1 and the same version of the Sense UI after installing it.
Meanwhile, GottaBeMobile reports that HTC is also readying an Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 update for last year’s One X. According to an HTC Rom developer who goes by the moniker LlabTooFer, this will be the last ever OS update, officially at least, for the handset.
An ETA as to when this will land is still to be determined, but as soon as we find out, we’ll be sure to let you know.
The news will no doubt frustrate the handset’s owners who have not received any update love since Jelly Bean 4.1 dropped back in November.
