uSwitch exclusive: Huawei Nexus 6 photo and video renders confirm same rear fingerprint scanner as LG Nexus 5

Take a good look at 2015's flagship Nexus phone.
The Huawei Nexus 6 will feature the same rear fingerprint scanner as the forthcoming LG Nexus 5, leaked renders obtained by uSwitch Tech confirm, in what looks like a very distinctive design quirk for the range.
Sourced for us by @OnLeaks, AKA Steve Hemmerstoffer of Nowhereelse.fr, the renders are based on detailed blueprints of the device sent out to third-party accessory manufacturers ahead of the phone’s
release.

The key, big reveal is that the Huawei-manufactured, Nexus-branded phone will ape LG's own forthcoming Nexus phone by transplanting the fingerprint scanner to the rear of the handset. Keen tech-watchers will know this is an approach LG also experimented with for volume and power buttons on the LG G3 and LG G4 smartphones.
The renders here also feature a 5.7-inch screen. However, that’s far from set in stone, it seems. According to our source, Huawei tested two models, one with a 5.5-inch display and another 5.7-inch screen, either of which might be the one that makes it to market.
We can confirm, however, that the Nexus 6’s dimensions come in at roughly 159.4mm high and 78.3mm wide (including side buttons). It’s also 6.6mm thick but 8.5mm at its thickest point, which you'll find where the bump is at the top of the device.

As with the LG Nexus 5, which we also leaked this week, the shape of the USB port indicates that it will be compatible with USB Type C connectors.
What the renders don’t tell us is what sort of build Huawei has opted for with the Nexus 6. However, we’ve got it on good authority that it will be a lavish, completely metal construction, in keeping with the fact that Huawei’s phone is the flagship for the Nexus range.
We're more in the dark about the colour of the phone, so it's worth bearing in mind that the white colourway you see here is pure speculation.

Both 2015 Nexus phones are tipped to land in October or November, in time for the massive seasonal market. They’ll also surely run the latest Android M version of Google’s operating system, in the stripped-back vanilla form favoured by the Android cognoscenti.
